Play Time Isn't Just For Kids...

With today's busy and stressful lives, it's increasingly important to do something just for the fun of it. It's critical to your stress level and your happiness quotient that you have at least one activity that you do regularly just for fun. Blowing off steam is necessary! When you get really get into something you enjoy--when you PLAY--there are numerous benefits for your body, mind and soul.

Your body stands to gain a lot each time you hits the links. How?

-- You actually get a little cardio workout if you're breaking a sweat

-- Your body products its own vitamin D just by catching some rays of sun outside which is great for your bones

-- Getting out in the sun can help your mental outlook as well--ever hear of "Seasonal Affect Disorder?" We need sunshine!

-- You'll even sleep better after getting that great fresh air and exercise; and

-- Because golf is a social game and making friends increases endorphins, golf really helps your mental outlook and gives an overall feeling of wellbeing. Studies have shown that seniors who remain social and friendly live up to six years longer than those that don’t.

So, get out there! Live longer and happier. Grab your clubs and balls, come on out to the golf course and enjoy a day in the fresh air. There's a time for everything. A time to work and a time to play!

Golf is a real sport! And a sport where everyone has to play by the rules and have real etiquette. So, when your daughter or son learns golf, they learn courtesy, discipline, honesty, respect and confidence—valuable things to know on and off the golf course.  Your child will also learn fitness and healthy nutritional habits that will help them play at their best on the golf course.

Probably the best thing golf has in its favor is that it’s truly a sport that a person can play his or her entire life. It’s not dominated by one gender; it’s an individual sport, certainly, but has many team facets to it in high school and college. Competition can span all the way into your child’s “Senior” years, when they look back and thank their wonderful parent for the introduction to such a great sport in their childhood.

Even if you never played golf, you can show your enthusiasm and express your interest in learning golf with your child.

At Royal St. Cloud Golf Links, your child can play for free with you (and your paid green fee) or for $12 unaccompanied (some restrictions apply). We are a US Kids Family Facility. You can come to the driving range and spend some time with your child hitting some balls. It’s a wonderful quality time with your child. One-on-one interaction in a friendly and safe environment!

Try to play during non-peak hours to make sure that your child gets an opportunity to enjoy the golf experience fully. Just give us a call to inquire about our non-peak hours.

Sign your child up for a simple series of golf lessons or learn about Junior Golf clinics we host throughout the year.

Important advice...remind them to be quiet and play with the club's rules and etiquette. But most importantly, have fun.
