Pace of play is important to us as it ties into your golfing experience at Royal St. Cloud. Our pace of play policy aims to ensure rounds are completed in a reasonable time, typically around 4 hours and 20 minutes for a group of four playing 18 holes. This is achieved in many ways.
Here are a few “Pace of Play” tips you can keep in mind to increase your enjoyment of your round:
- Arrive to the facility with ample time to check in, warm up and get to the 1st tee ten minutes before your tee time.
- Select the right tee box. We offer four different tee boxes for golfers of all abilities.
- Play “Ready Golf”:
- Please keep up with the group ahead of you.
- While your playing partner is hitting their shot use that time to be thinking about and preparing for your shot.
- Driver and passenger of golf cart should work together by dropping off and picking up each other whenever possible.
- Put clubs away and write down scores at the next tee.
- Spend less time looking for lost balls. Drop a ball and keep moving.
- Keep pace with the group in front of you!
- Pick the tee based on your skill level.
- Pick up ball and advance as needed or skip a hole when necessary.
One of the ways we are committed this aspect of your enjoyment of your round is to keep on eye on our overall pace of play by utilizing our GPS tracking. Our Player Assistant team will be helping you to enjoy your round of golf.
Our Player Assistant staff will ask you to please improve your pace of play should your group fall out of position during your round. You will need to either speed up play or skip holes. If a group is unable to comply with the Pace of Play and/or does not observe the Pace of Play policies, they will be asked to leave the golf course. We want to be sure to avoid a delay for the rest of the golf course.
